Life-saving kits.
Free, no questions.
Naloxone reverses an opioid overdose, restoring breathing within minutes. British Columbia has been in a declared public health emergency over the toxic drug supply since 2016, and an unpredictable supply means an overdose can happen to someone who has used the same amount for years. We give kits and hands-on training to anyone who might need them — people who use drugs, family, friends, coworkers, anyone. No prescription, no health card, no questions asked.
Free take-home kits
Provided free through BC's Take Home Naloxone program. No prescription and no health card required.
Nasal spray
Nasal naloxone needs no needles and no training to get right under pressure — ideal for family members and bystanders.
Injectable kits
Injectable naloxone kits are also available for those who prefer or need that format.
Training that sticks
We show you how to recognise an overdose, how to give naloxone, how to position someone, and what to do while you wait for paramedics. It takes ten minutes.
No explanation required
You do not need to be a patient here, and you do not need to say who the kit is for. Confidential and judgement-free.
Free replacement
Used a kit? Come back and get another, free, and tell us as much or as little about it as you want. Kits also expire — bring yours in and we will check it.
Picking up a kit
Come in
Walk in any day we are open and ask for a naloxone kit at the counter. There is nothing to fill in first.
Choose a format
Nasal spray or injectable. If you are not sure, take the nasal — it is the easier one to use when you are frightened.
Ten minutes of training
We go through recognising an overdose, giving the dose, the recovery position, and calling 911. Bring whoever else should know.
Carry it
A kit in a drawer at home helps nobody. Keep it where you actually are — bag, glovebox, jacket. Check the expiry once a year.
