Your Immunization Schedule Through Life
What's routinely recommended at each life stage in British Columbia — a reference to check yourself against, not a substitute for a pharmacist review of your specific record.
Immunization schedules shift with age, health conditions and what's currently circulating. This is a general reference for British Columbia — your actual needs depend on your history, which we can check against the provincial Panorama registry.
Adults — routine and ongoing
- ✓Influenza (flu) — annually, ideally October–November, free for eligible BC residents.
- ✓COVID-19 — updated boosters as recommended, particularly for those 65+ or at higher risk.
- ✓Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) — a booster roughly every 10 years, sooner after a dirty wound if it's been a while.
Age 50+
- ✓Shingrix (shingles) — a two-dose series, publicly funded for eligible groups including adults 65+ and immunocompromised adults 50+.
Age 65+
- ✓High-dose influenza vaccine — a stronger formulation recommended for a better immune response.
- ✓Pneumococcal vaccine (Prevnar 20 or Pneumovax 23) — protects against pneumococcal pneumonia and related infections.
- ✓RSV vaccine — available for eligible older adults; ask about your eligibility.
Travel and occupational — outside our scope
Argyle Pharmacy does not provide travel vaccines or a travel health clinic. If you need vaccines for travel — yellow fever, typhoid, and similar — a dedicated travel health clinic or your family physician is the right place to ask.
Catching up
If you're not sure what you're missing, that's a normal starting point, not an unusual one. Bring whatever records you have — a paper card, a rough memory, anything — and we can check what's recorded in Panorama, BC's immunization registry, and go from there.
Book an immunization or ask about your record — call 778-421-3333 or walk in.
